So, I’ve been rather remiss in the blogging and the tweeting.  I haven’t twittered since last weekend.  I’ve been working late, and haven’t been doing much thats worth posting, I’ve also been pretty busy during the day at work, and haven’t had any random thoughts to post to Twitter.  But I’m sure that once summer comes I’ll have lots more time for blathering on the net.

I’ve also decided to revise some of my knitting goals.  I haven’t been excited about any of my projects.  I’ve decided to put the Wavy scarf in hibernation for awhile.  The Cosy shawl is on hold also.  I’ve decided to make a Branching Out scarf for my Great Aunt Madelyne.  I started it with one kind of yarn, but that yarn was too thick.  I’m going out today to get some lighter weight yarn.  This is going to be the main project for awhile, as it has a deadline.  After that I’ll probably  jump on the Yarn Harlot bandwagon and make Shawl That Jazz.  I think its just the cutest shawl ever.  And its all garter stitch, but also one big short row, so it should be easy enough to knit without boring me to tears.  Then I might go back to the Cozy shawl, or I might decide to go ahead and start Adamas.  Or I might decide to work on Cozy before I start Shawl That Jazz.  I’m not sure.  But the most important right now is definitely the scarf for Aunt Mad.  I’d like to get it done quickly if I can, but we’ll see.

This morning I have to go to Planned Parenthood and get my shot, so that I don’t have babies.  This is very important.  We don’t want a miniature combination of Ryan and myself unleashed upon the world.  It would most likely end in lots of screaming…and hair.  I also have some pictures that I want to get printed up, so a trip to Walgreens is on the list of things to be accomplished.

For knitting, I want to get through another ball of yarn on the Wavy Scarf, I’m almost done with the second and would like to get through the third.  Also four balls of yarn on the Cozy Wrap, but this is ambitous, I’ll be satisfied if I can get through 2 or 3.

Friday:  Try to finish knitting Mother’s Day Scarf.  Then can start Cozy wrap with clear conscience.

Saturday: Block Mother’s Day Scarf, spray with Febreeze, keep in sealed container so it doesn’t reek of cigarette smoke when its gifted.

Sunday: Maybe finish toe-up socks?

WIP’s

I’m hoping to be done with the Mother’s Day Scarf by Saturday.  If I buckle down and make myself work on it at least an hour a night, I think I can get it done.  I’d like to have it blocking by Saturday afternoon.  I know Mother’s Day isn’t until May, but this is on my Harmony size 7s, and I need them for something else.

Next up after that is the toe-up socks that I’ve been working on for forever.  I’m on the second sock, and I think I’m ready for the short row heel.  There’s no particular hurry to get these done, but I’m sick of seeing the WIP tag on my Ravelry projects page.  Besides, I started them on February 1, and two months for a pair of simple socks is just sad.

After that is the Wavy scarf that I started, but got distracted from by the doily jag.  Again, no hurry.  But this is a fairly quick project and its on my nickle-plated size 7s, which I like to keep free for dishcloths.  It was in my Queue for forever before I started it, and the yarn was purchased expressly for this scarf about a year and a half ago.  I’d just like to get it done and out of the way.

Since my WIP’s are all fairly quick projects, I’d like to just take a few weeks and get them all off the needles.  It would make me feel very productive and organized.

New Projects

I’d like to start the Cozy wrap soon.  I bought the yarn for it a long time ago, a nice cotton/Modal blend from KnitPicks.  Summer is coming, and we usually keep the house pretty chilly during the summer and I always wish for a nice wrap to keep the chill off.  I had also planned on knitting this before xmas last year, and I’d at least like to get it completed by xmas this year.

I also have some pretty pretty pretty Essential sock yarn in the Princess Multi colorway that I really want a pair of socks from.

Another major project that I’ve been dying for is the Adamas Shawl.  This pattern kicked my ass the last time I tried to work on it, but I’ve been doing lots of lace projects since then and I think I’m ready for it.  This is another one that I bought yarn for a long time ago, and its the prettiest turqouise color.  The goal is to start this in the summer.  Since spring is starting work is going to be very stressful and I just won’t be able to concentrate fully on a lace shawl, but once summer starts I should have more time and energy to devote to a complicated (for me) project.
